About the event
Hi ladies, we are bringing you another one of our AIW Cooking Parties! 🥳
South Africa, a country situated on the southernmost tip of Africa, is a diverse nation with a complex history and a rich culinary heritage that is inextricably bound up with its history. While there is no single dish that is peculiarly South African, its food has been influenced by the earliest Dutch colonial settlers at the Cape, the slaves from India and the East, British colonialists and immigrants from African countries such as Angola and Mozambique. Even the Portuguese and the Greek have made their mark, not to mention the French Hugenots who brought their viniculture experience that is now deeply embedded in the wine producing valleys of the Cape.
I invite you to join me on a journey of food discovery where we will enjoy a 3-course meal that pays homage to the African, Indian and Afrikaner people of my beautiful home country.
Menu:
Starter –
Chili bites with Chakalaka (v)
Main –
Chicken Curry with Rice and Carrot Salad (vegetarian option on request)
Dessert –
Pumpkin Fritters with cinnamon sugar (v) and a side of Amarula liquer
· I will offer a vegetarian main on request when signing up. The meal includes 2 glasses of South African wine and a shot of liqueur with dessert, coffee and tea with dessert on request
· Price Eur40 (payment with Ava, via tikkie, to reserve your spot)
